    Goodbye Mr Pips !

I'm back from my trip. the trip ended with some sadness when i go home, so i won't be posting pics or posting my story for a while. My 19 year old cat 'Mr Pips' or Pipsy or Pipski depending what mood i was in, got run over and killed whilst i was away. I was down to my last two cats out of the original four i had. I am gonna pick his body up and bury him today.

What a cat he was, character is not the word to describe him, he had human and dog like qualities funny firker he was . He was loved by my nieghbours friends and family. When ever i pulled up in my cab in the drive after work at night he would be there to greet me with purrs and meaows and sit on my lap, and make a bad night at work seem worth it all in the end.

It would have been nice to have known how long he would have lived had he lived and died of natural causes. To the non pet owners out there for rambling on, but pet owners know what i am talking about.

Nineteen years is a long time with one animal, i even had to put him into the witness protection program when i was going through a diorce with my ex because she wanted him. I sent him 'up norf' to live with my sister, he never forgave me for that

Anyway one cat left now, 'Squidgee' she is twenty one years old, she is in good health, she never goes near the road so hopefuly she will die of natural causes. There will be no more pets after this one finally goes, i find there deths far to distressing, also i want to do more travelling and want less resposibilities.

Its been one of those years

    Later !

    Sorry to hear
I do know how you feel,i know it is no help now but try to remember the good times and the funny things he did.
When i lost my dog in SA i think i lost a little bit of myself (he saved my life once and was the coolest, most chilled out dog i have ever seen)
but i look back now and just think how lucky i was to have had him and all the fun memorys
They call him "Ze Quiet one"
I listen to what the rice crispies tell me to do

Sorry to hear about the loss.

I saw my cat (which is really my mum's) last night for the first time in ages, really miss her, even though she's old (20ish, cat home moggie)and doesn't do much any more.

I think it's important to just remember how much you enjoyed the time with them and be thankful for that.

Condolences, LB. It's amazing how attached you can get to the little critters, isn't it? I lost my Punch after 12 years, just a child compared to yours, and was gutted. A true member of the family and her picture is still on the wall. Now I've adopted another one(or she adopted me. It's a grey area) and know I'll have to go through it all again when her time comes(which was almost last summer when she lost a leg to a farmer's rat-trap).

Remember all the good times you had with Mr Pips and you can bring the furry face to mind anytime you want.

As others have said I'm sorry that you have lost Mr Pips, it's amazing how attached you get to pets and how much loosing one can screw you up. We too have a ****ty year having to have what was my child hood pony put down after she developed muscle problems and could no longer stand up then only months later my dog aged 15 died in my arms after a heart attack...

All i can say in time things get better, the bad memories fade and the good ones grow, believe me once you have had pets you always will as they become a part of you and happily were now looking a getting a rescue dog....

Sorry to hear that - non pet owners may think youre crazy (its just a cat), but i know, they become part of the family, very loyal and great to have around for company.

we have a 20 year old cat at the moment - Oscar, his age is sadly catching up with him now, so were trying to keep him as comfortable as possible - just dreading the day when he goes to cat heaven, as my wife will be very upset.
