    I'm a bit of a book collector, and at this time of year when it gets dark and cold, I love getting into a good book or 5. So if we list out favourite motorbiking books then we can get a page going on the wiki.

    Travel books, adventure books, maintenance books, get 'em listed.. please!

    Jupiter's Travels - Ted Simon
    Adventure Motorcycling Handbook - Chris Scott
    Two Wheels Through Terror - Glen Heggstad
    Race to Dakar - Charley Boorman
    Long Way Round - Charley Boorman & Ewan McGregor
    Motorcycle Roadcraft - The Police Foundation

    When I were a lad Duncan somebody or other (or something or other Duncan), who became a Blue Peter presenter, was previously in a kids TV programme about a biker. They brought out a book with him on the cover. I read that book as a kid and enjoyed it.
    Is this the naffest response to a post ever?

    Yeah but facts are only for trainee journalists.

    I remember that. It was about speedway riding. I think he made it just before his p*rn film.
    3 Africa Twins/280,000 miles. If it's happened to one of mine, it's gonna happen to one of yours.....eventually.

    1 Varadero/17,000 miles ridden (of 40,000 miles on the bike), it's all still new to me!

    Only a smidgen off topic.......

    Can anyone recommend a magazine (motorcycle biased) that covers
    * off roaders/green laners ect
    * adventure travel
    * touring info
    * riders/travellers stories

    General motorcycle mags just bore me into the ground... like... who really cares how fast the latest piece of japanese plastic goes?

    So keen to find one that you asked twice,eh ??

    You`re probably best off with TBM...TrailBike(and enduro)Monthly because over a year it covers all the aspects that you mention.
    I`ve got every issue since number 1

    Another 'not bad' one is Motorcycle Sport and Leisure.

    Like you,I'm not remotely interested in all these head down arse up plastic pellets that most of the glossy monthly rags get so excited about.
