Honda parts seem to be priced just so that it's viable to have some guy in a rowboat come over from japan with your part ("konnichiwa") and row back to get the next part... Takes about that long, too.

That said, I've just put the GS back in the shed to tear it apart because I've completely had it, one of the carbs keeps flooding and I can't for the life of me figure out why. So it's back on the NX for the time being... Old Reliable.

Do those 4valves still give abs faults on starting when the battery is anything more than a day old?

Nothin wrong with being a bike whore - I'm a bit of a slack-alice-slapper in that respect myself. As long as you just look and don't touch them with your "Winkie" you'll be fine. But you'll come back to Honda eventually - you'll see !! trust wee jack on this
    2011 Triumph Tiger 800 - "Black Pussy" - MMMM Nice !!!
    2000 Suzuki DRZ400S - "Ol' Yella" - very bright
    2011 Peugeot V-Clic 50cc - "Scoot" - It's my wife's, an enjoyable ride.

    I have a house , but I can't guarantee it's safe !!

Stating the obvious.... the ABS light will flash constantly until you move off, so those that don't know this (like my missus) assume there's a problem. She refused to get on until the BMW dealer told her it was ok.

it's wierd - part of me wants sensible low maintenance and comfort but part of me wants cool and good noise and imperfections!

i guess this is the crux of the issue, bikes are more than just transport - they are hobbies and lifestyles and friends and toys, objects of frustration and desire in equal measure!

    maaan that was deep!

    A whore too far

Sold my AT a few weeks ago, and bought a sports tourer. Love it to bits, its quick (er than the AT), more comfy, and does motorways with ease - big thing is cross wind is wee buns.

    BUT......

went for a scoot with a couple of the AT guys here, and was so envious, I REALLY missed my AT. So much so the ST is for sale, and in the market for another AT.

So, if anyone is thinking of selling, go for a spin with some AT-ers, and then you can look at all the other bikes and smile with pride.

    Here finishes the sermon!

Ahwell I don't particularly care for (or want) ABS anyway...

Besides, I've almost got ABS. (AKA rubbish front brake. ) I'm looking around for one of those four-pot brembo calipers that you 4V guys have, with a bit of grinding those will fit the airhead just fine indeed.

(And if that's not enough there's always this)

But for now I'm rebuilding carbs and riding old Igor again.

Thats why I have two bikes Dolly (the dominator) sensible, practical, economic everyday transport, and Abigail (the XBR project cafe racer) lustful, impractical, expensive creature of desire

But back to being a bike tart and the matter of the wandering eye. It's like I said to the wife on our wedding day when she caught me looking at the bridesmaids.

Just because I bought a book, doesn't mean I can't visit the library
