Simple answer. Buy new bikes, but don't get rid of your old ones.

does anyone know if there are any 'bike pools/clubs' like the classic car ones as that would satisfy the need to try different bikes but not have to shell out all the money?
I know there are quite a few car pools/clubs running especially in London were for a flat fee ( think its about £800-£1200) every year and a cheap daily lease you buy 'access' to various cars. the one just of swiss cottage is a porsche club and has nearly every model made i did hear you can hire a 911 for £80 a day if your a member! so a similar system for bikes would make sense!!!
The Classic Car Club of GB
I had stacks of money and then got a divorce !!!! lost the bloody lot close to £1 million. However when i had the money i allways had 4 to 6 brand new bikes of all types. What i found was the following
1 I was never happy as i was allways looking for the newest and the best it was a never ending saga.
2 Any sportsbike i had and i had them all. Suzuki GSXR750, Honda Fireblade, Yamaha FZR1000, Yamaha R1, Ducati 916 SPS, Honda SP1, were hardly ever used, have you noticed the millins of sportsbikes for sale with 2000 to 5000 miles on the clock? ever wondered why? becuase hey look great but are **** to ride on real roads. They were deseigned for racetracks but we do not drive everyday on racetracks !!!
Now i have my 1991 Africa Twin i have never bean happier, i have nothing to prove, i enjoy the ride and countryside, i am comfortable and i really use the bike 12,000 miles this year already.
I still test ride what i can, but i allways ask myself the question is what i have just ridden worth the extra money over the Africa Twin or would i be much better spending the saved money of petrol and ferry tickets and use what i have got? i have yet to ride a bike that makes me feel i want to change.
There's one in France but at the moment I can't find the name of it. They have a load of bikes and you can have a long weekend or holiday and ride till your hearts content.Originally Posted by Jenna

Visited my local Yamaha dealer to pick up a battery for the @ yesterday.....
Got offered a test ride on a Yammy MT03 650 Single.....
(I actually liked the little thing)
DO I NEED HELP?
Yes, they do! Dave'll understand as the nights get longer and colder. A stop, switch off then restart after few miles or so usually clears it.Originally Posted by Rubberchicken
And yes, I'm a bike tart! I cannot, simply cannot, walk past any bike with out thinking "hmmmmm, I wonder..." however as I've said before I'm keeping the AT despite my severe orange leanings at the mo'!!
I think my Twinky'd look good with a black powdercoated frame (she's got black bodywork), any thoughts?![]()
