For the period beggining of 2003 to end of 2005 i was living in Bodrum in Turkey absolutely fantastic place to live, incredible memories. I was a member of Bodrum Motorcycle Club and we used to have great runs all over Turkey.
One thing i have noticed since being back in Britain is really how bad the weather is you can never rely on it and the summer is so short. In Turkey at the end of March it starts to get warm and it will stay this way until about Christmas. so really you have two seasons a very long 8 month summer followed by a short mild winter.
You can set your watch by it every day will be perfect, for months on end. Add in cheap property to buy or rent, lots of fresh fruit and fish, good roads, very friendly people, dirt cheap to go out, and eat out it is a wonderful country.
They say that the average Brit is well off, frankly i just cannot see it at all. We have 40% of the EU,s total debt. If the average Brit had to settle up all his debts and the Goverments debt he would have very little. Add this to the fact, that what he perceives as wealth is actually vastly overinflated house prices, which can evaporate very quickly with any economic downturn and i think Britain is actually quite a poor country. Certainly very poor in quality of life.
