    Proper Wet

Think this may be a Welsh phrase, but both last night and this morning on my way from and to work I got well and truly proper wet.

Now we are not talking a little damp, or even mildly drenched

I am talking well and truly completely properly wet.

It rained so hard that last night riding up the A48 I discovered that the road had turned into a river. It was Peg deep in some placed so not only was I wet from the top rainy bits but it splashed up my trousers and down my seal skin socks. Bit scary but still made me grin

When I took my gloves off my fingers were wrinkled as if I had been in a bath too long.

One good thing though. I had been a bit worried about my new trail wing tyres, Pig Ugly had warned me that they are not good in the wet. I didn't have a problem last night.

Phil - does that mean I am not riding properly?????

I love riding in the winter.

The heaven opened up on my way to work, real big lakes everywhere on the roads.
You know what i enjoy most when cage drivers slow down because of a big puddle, trying to find the shallow part, i come flying past them in the deep end of the pool
They call him "Ze Quiet one"
I listen to what the rice crispies tell me to do

    Water is fun.

I once went through a tunnel at night, and in the middle it turned out to be flooded, also about peg deep. Which I found out at about 80 km/h.

Afterwards my dad went "Oh that's nothing, I once had the same thing, except it was frozen solid..." He then went on to explain that distinct feeling you get in your stomach when you hit 10m of perfect ice at motorway speeds and you don't crash.

Mabel, anyone who willingly rides everyday and in such conditions deserves the utmost respect, to cope with that and come out upright and smiling proves there's nowt up wi' yer ridin'

Ditto, your the top (wet) banana

Have to admit though I had to read Mabel's post twice before I worked out what "peg deep" was, I thought it was another Welshism
