    The dark side....

i would post this in elsewhere, but it does not seem to fit so here is good.

today i was introduced to a new bike, i never thought i would like it, but what a tool.
    and it's a Honda.

i have fallen for a pan euro, what a bit of kit..... bloody honda dealers wish they had kept me away from it.
but for eating the miles to France etc, i dont think you could beat it.

am i alone in being interested ?
    anyone else tried one ?

Never tried one, but I like them a lot, and they´re quite fast too.

Well I know what I'd recommend for a long distance bike you can have a laugh on, but whatever floats your boat

I think you're getting old Roy. I'll get your pipe and slippers for you or does the Pan come with those.

Joking aside I was reading the review in Bike of the new Deauville 700 which they seemed to rate. A bloke at work had one and really rated it.

Butbutbut... The deauville is soooo UGLY!

It's like that wossname, the pacific coast. Decent enough bike, but you don't want to be caught dead on it...

pipe and slippers ? have you ridden one of these things ? they go very well, ok would be rubbish off road, but fast as hell on the right roads.

and would a Honda pipe not need to meet emissions ?

i have to say, the equipment fitted to the demo was very good, electric screen, dial a temperature for the heated grips, stowaway pockets in the fairing etc etc.....(very like a BMW touring bike) but all coupled to a realy nice smooth engine, and the handling was nice too !
not sure about the mirrors being so low but i spose you get used to it.
(like the indicators on a BMW first time i rode one)

I'm not sure whether I'd prefer the 700 styling:

    or the 650

    if I had to choose

Then again, which looks better now, the Deauville:

    or the Pan
