Bored, frustrated and stuck in Blackheath, SE London......

What I'd really like to find is some gentle 'green lanes' I could sneak off to and take my ageing Transalp over. Nothing too adventurous mind, but something where I can have a little smile to myself as I undulate over hillocks and other such trial-based stuff.
Anyone know anywhere near me at all? I'm so sick of having to assume everyone is going to try and kill me on London roads. In fact, the whole "riding in London" thing is doing my head in.
    Help!

If you can make it north to Bedfordshire we've got quite a lot to go at! Or South, I think, towards Surrey? or there abouts are quite a few too. Grab an OS Map, find a "BOAT", red crosses! and have a look!

I'm out to play Sunday if anyone fancies a blat.

    Cheers.

Pilgrims way in Kent will be perfect for you.
3 Africa Twins/280,000 miles. If it's happened to one of mine, it's gonna happen to one of yours.....eventually.

1 Varadero/17,000 miles ridden (of 40,000 miles on the bike), it's all still new to me!

Thanks for the prompt response. I feel my mood lifting alreadt. Loved the Video. Just what I'd be looking for, although I'm not sure how my rotten old exhaust would fare in that river crossing.
I wonder if I am now going to have to fit nobbly tyres then?

Thanks for the offer of this Weekend LV but its a bit short notice. Having a six week old baby means anything that doesn't have at least three weeks notice and a requaest form in triplicate gets an instant refusal from She Who Must Be Obeyed.

I'm certainly keen to get out there though in the near future. Let me know if you fancy doing something late Jan/Early Feb.

It runs from Surrey across into Kent, it is a collection of tarmac roads, green lanes, and chalk tracks, with various greenlanes running off it north and south. I've put a link below to a small piece of it near Hollingbourne. See the red crosses.
