May need to buy a new white power ranger suit soon ........

I've been sniffing around for the last six months trying to work out what my next bike is going to be - thats half the fun isn't it .
    And I've decided
I'm following in Samih's footsteps and bought a DL1000 Vstrom

If you don't think its ugly then the other charecteristics - weight, size, price and power make it a good choice over the Vara or a GS.

I need my bike for daily commutes so reliability is a big part of it. I'd probably stay Honda if the Vara wasn't so heavy, and to be honest (yes I know you'll think there's something wrong with me) I prefer the looks of the DL over the Vara.

Planning a weeks tour of Europe this summer in June , got the green light at home - very understanding wife I have, and my friend and I have both got the time booked off work so I decided to get the new bike early to be completely au fait with it before the summer.

Deposit down, got to pick it up in a couple of weeks, and soon after my beloved Transalp will be up for sale.

I will still be on here though for the chatter ( does the Strom count as "Other Traily?"but I must say a big thank you to all here that have helped make my first two years in the saddle thorougly enjoyable.

    Cheers
    Ralphie

Hey, if the site's owner can defect to BMW, I'm sure it's fine for you to buy a Suzuki. I agree about the looks; what a pity the Vara isn't a little sharper.

I tested the DL600 and loved it's nimbleness and handling. I imagine the DL1000 would have great power-to-weight. I have an ongoing concern about Suzuki's ability to make bikes that can last through winter, though. Hope you enjoy!

Good luck with your new bike matey!

As far as looks goes it's all personal taste and anyway you can't see it when you're on it!

mate of mine has the 1000 and he loves it!

new bikes are always good- no matter what they are!

and my vote would be to allow it as "other trailie"

I quite like the V strom, I've heard lots of good things about them, if I didn't love Twinkletoes so much I may be tempted myself

Why? Are you planning to ride it or make love to it?

This just got a damn good thrashing all the way to Holyhead

    ITS MY NEW BABY

Lovely gears, fantastic power, scary when you trundle along in Overdrive for a while and then open her up in fifth - whooooooooshhhh

Stiffer that the Alp, no vibes - so just as comfortable, similar seating position - LESS helmet/head friction - I think the touring screen on my Alp makes it worse - the Strom was on the lowest screen setting

    Phwoar
