The TA is my daily form of transport, rain and shine, summer and winter, I do also have a VW camper van but never use it for commuting as by the time I get to work can't be guaranteed a parking space. Also if I drove into work I would get in far too late as have to walk my son to school first.

Ok, I use my car shedloads, especially when it's pissing down/ cold/ snowing. but then I've done all that and more and now I'm nearly old enough to be someone's grandad, it's a long way to work and I don't ride unless it's fun.

Live life to the full "eat, drink, (ride) and be merry, for tomorrow you shall die" make the most of it while you got it, or you'll end up a grumpy old B******d like me

Err, this is meant to be encouraging btw

I have a company car but rarely use it... ok well only at weekends to do whatever we're doing with the family.

My main mode of transport for work is the bike, so I commute in to Bristol, and go down to Andover, Brighton, Birmingham, etc.. when the need arises.
The car puts on around 6000 miles a year whereas the bike does about 20K a year.
    Forum help and advice needed?

Yep, I'm old school too Beloved has a car, but my transport is Dolly (upto the point where I put a disc out and now have to be ferried everywhere ) Real old style biking here as I do all my own maintenance and repairs, and my bike is a product of my engineering skills verses my requirements

Now I understand why I'm having so much bother over my customising ideas. I'm in the old folks home here! Maybe I should be calling you all "pops" and trying to date your daughters and granddaughters?! :dev:

I spent the first 6 years here with only a bike, & got a car when i realised that during the winter with temperatures down into minus double figures & living only 8km from work, it was taking me longer to get dressed to go to work than to actually get to work...

I now have a 4 year old daughter (& 2 more an the way) so yes I have a car, & yes I'm obliged to use it most days to go to work (daughters school is next to work) but I still take the bike when I'm alone even in crappy weather (-10 is about the limit though!)
