remove the rubbers from the footpegs (the pegs have a serrated top underneath the rubber )- two bolts and less than a minute to do - adjust the angle of the gear lever and check with a test ride - usually takes a couple of goes to get it spot on.

Donīt worry, felt the same when I bought my touring road boots, and now I bought a pair of motocross boots, itīs normal to loose feeling and puting too little effort into the foot when you get harder boots but with a few miles youīll get used to them.
Plus the boots themselves break in with a few miles.
