    4000 mile service

I've just had the 4000 mile service done on my TA, this cost £120. Initially I thought this was a bit steep for basically an oil change. (Did get a courtesy bike for the day though.)

However I can tell they've done some other small jobs as well. For a start the chain is far too tight, more like about 25mm of travel on the side stand, not the recommended 45mm!

They adjusted the clutch cable, but didn't replace the boot, and left the adjuster slot facing upwards to funnel water and crud down into the cable, and I'm sure there is more that I haven't discovered yet.

I usually do all my own servicing however as the bike is under warranty I thought it best to get the stealers to do it. I think this will be the last time though.

The loan bike was a new 700cc DullVille, bike was OK but the engine was great, please Mr Honda stick this in an updated TA (or relaunched AT)

Which dealer/mechanic did the work for you?
It's not the age, it's the mileage...

Take it back and complain immediately, getting them to put things right. If you find something more serious wrong later, you will be better off having taken it back now to get these minor things corrected.
