I'm conscious there's been a lot of eyebrows raised at the level of moderation over the last few months.
I guess sometimes you can't always see why something is moderated so I thought it was worth a post to try to explain.

We (the moderators and admins) are forming a policy as we speak on what is and what isn't acceptable. I'll publish that in due course when we've agreed it. It'll be simple.

However perhaps if I can paint the picture of what I expect as I've done to the mods and we'll go from there. I've said time and time again, I expect the majority of this site to be viewable by anyone in your family; kids, MIL, etc..... However I do realise that you're all rufty tufty bikers and want to swear and post pics of naked ladies and men (especially Mav ) , etc.... but the Chatter forums are not the place for this. However I DO NOT want to sanitise the forum, and I appreciate it may seem that way to you but I don't... honest!
We also have a very very enviable Google ranking at the moment where we are the number one site for all of our choices of key words, and top ten in many that we don't want. Type in F800GS for an example and look down to link 8! This generates traffic and therefore income for the site to keep it going. You guys all know that this site is now costing me a small fortune to keep going each month!
If our site gets rated by Google as their equivalent of NWS a lot of the hard work done over the years will be undone. We've also had the site banned by various work place filters before so there is very good reason that we do this.

All I ask is that humorous posts of a mildly pornographic nature are shoved in the Jokes forum. That will help tremendously because the Jokes forum isn't indexed by search engines, and you have to be logged in to view the Jokes forum.
The rest of the policy we can debate....... and I will publish here.
So how does that sound folks?

I must say I think the mod team is doing a cracking job here. I mod on another forum and it's not an easy thing to do.

I think whoever pays the piper calls the tune. It's your site and I think you do a great job. I've never had an issue with the moderators' work.
