    Cool Adding to the stable............

As I`m sure we are all aware..... you can NEVER have too many bikes at any one time!
(even tho they keep saying "But why? You can only ride one at a time!)
    They`ll never understand

Had a few tentative exploits on the trails with the AT.
Find it a bit heavy and too loved and looked after to drop in too many rivers

Had it in my mind to get an XR650 for some time.
I like the idea of turning it into a Supermoto as well!

    However.......

Those that regularly hit the trails say this is too big & go for an XR400.
Hmmm.. Bit too small to Supermoto (I`m 6`1" and cant remember when I was last built like a racing snake!!)

    Now Then..

Just been offered for sensible money an X plate CCM604E complete with trail and road wheeels, lots of spare plastics and next to no milage on it

Spoken to the dealer it came from who agreed it is good money, great on and off road, pleanty of spares available etc etc...

Has anyone had any real world experience of a CCM????
Be good to hear of anything good or bad before I have to make some more space in the shed!

Good tough bike, very capable off road, make sure it's had the carb mod or you'll end up having an engine rebuild if it sucks in the broken bits of needle.

Rode quite a few different ones, I like the Rotax engine. One accompanied us to Morocco and back with just a disintegrated battery (on the way back) and constantly blown rear bulb as the only problems. All this meant was a bit of kickstarting until a new battery was picked up in Portugal.

That particular bike (99 model) was stolen a year or so afterwards and instantly replaced with a 640 ex Dakar version. The 99 model below with it's northern owner at the Tinfou dunes.
3 Africa Twins/280,000 miles. If it's happened to one of mine, it's gonna happen to one of yours.....eventually.

1 Varadero/17,000 miles ridden (of 40,000 miles on the bike), it's all still new to me!

    Ahh!
    Thanks for that.
The dealer did say something about a problem with Dellorto carb ones.
Something about being very "fluffy" on the throttle at low revs.
Cured and improved by a carb change for about £150

The more I think about it, the more I like the sound of this bike!
(am I allowed to say that on a Honda Forum?!?!)

Had a look through some of the CCM sites & haven`t found a bad word yet
(they might be a bit biased tho! )

I ride with a guy on a Suzuki engined version, he's got nothing but praise for it tho' it was extremely heavy when covered with three inches of Devons stickiest mud.

Took three of us to pick it up!!!

Go for it, I'm sure you won't have any regrets.
