    Wish me luck

Got my root nerve block injection tommorrow which will hopefully fix my poor back Trouble is the fact sheet/info leaflet airs on the side of depressing Really hope they don't cock it up and put me back 2 months, especially with the National next weekend.

Anyone here had this done?? what was it like??

(PS lie if you have too, I need to keep a positive view on this )

Not had this done, but I have had a number of "procedures" done that I've been quite nervous about. If you make it to the National we'll discuss some over a beer.
There always someone that's had something done that's worse than what you're going to have done. They do loads all of the time, so remind yourself of this. You're in very safe hands.
Imagine having your heart stopped and then restarted because of an irregular heart rhythm. Piece of cake having a needle in your back!
I'm sure you'll be thinking about it afterwards wondering what all the fuss was about.

Wishing you all the best mate - as Dave alluded to, we get very nervous about this stuf coz its all medical and complicated and intricate and we dont really actually fully understand what its all about but to the practicioners, the docs and surgeons and nurses, its just bread and butter - they'll have done it a million times.

God speed fella - Im not going to the national, but here's hopin you make it without breaking a sweat.

    Good luck Squirrel!
Those injections last quite a long time don't they - or are you going for the permanent one?
RD07a, reg in 2001, Black, heated grips, short screen, Scottoiler, Givi top box and panniers, DataTag, full Riky Cross crash bars, Baglux tank cover, Facet pump, mostly 200 miles to reserve and presently a lot happier since being loved up at Chad's hospital for sick ATs!

Yes, aparently. This is a steroid injection aimed at the area of nerve damage as opposed to a epidural. If it works, job done much better than surgery. The downside is that it could only work for 6-8 weeks and if they misjudge things, 4-5 of those weeks are back in severe pain Not overly fretting about having it done, just in it getting cocked up and missing the rally. Really looking forward to Dent so I just wish the appointment could have been for the week after, then they can do what they like

After 2 vertebrae fusions in her neck, my wife tried this to avoid a 3rd. It didn't work, but it didn't make things any worse. After that it was a titanium disc replacement for Op 3. Her pillion days are over unfortunately.

Best of luck with yours. For neck blocks they go through the front, avoiding your essential plumbing on the way through!

PAtrick if your doc thinks it will work you have a really good chance of some relief. My friend found it a life saver and was able to be pain free for months at a time. Afterwards try swimming it is a really good way to build up strength and help reduce any pain you may have

She did eventually need surgery but she did have quite complicated back problems
