    first aid kit

due out for a long week-end with about 7 others next week end. Are there any other "first aiders" or more qualified bods on here who carry a basic first aid kit?

does this sound reasonable / insufficient / over the top?

    - latex gloves
    - band aids (various sizes)
    - Bandages sterile 2
    - roll sticky tape
    - sterile dressings 4 (various sizes)
    - Betadine (as cleansing agent / antiseptic)
    - aspirin
    - Ibuprofen
    - safety pins
    - tweezers
    - scissors
    - survival blanket.

    ?

    Re: first aid kit

Hi Moon, your kit sounds just about fine.

    In mine I carry:

Latex free gloves - years in the NHS has left me with latex sensitivity
    plasters
    paracetamol
    antihistamines
    rehydrate
    Brufen
    Antiseptic solution sachets
    2 triangular bandages
    insect bite cream
clingfilm (it's great dressing for burns, grazes that sort of stuff)
    Non adherent dressings
    2 Bandages
scissors (actually it's a leathermans multitool)
gaffer tape (it's much better than medical tape when wet)

That's the basic stuff I also carry a bit more technical stuff which I use for mountain rescue but I won't bore you with those.

    Re: first aid kit

Thanx Sharri, I hadn't thought of the clingfilm but will add some forthwith.
My scissors is a leathermen as well. I havn't bothered with rehydrate stuff as we're not off roading, or going far from civilisation, or out of range for mobile phone & rapid help if necessary.
I did a first aid course earlier on in the year through work & havn't yet got around to making up a wee kit for the bike so this week end was the opportunity.

    Thanks for the help.

Stop taking the pi$$ you two...... first aid is serious stuff...

Sharribe ...... it may be possible to frig Twinkletoes thermostat to increase the flash point... with the addition of a plumbed stainless steel receptacle (biscuit tin) located in the fairing, we can create an autoclave to sterilse your leatherman.

just a question, I hate clingfilm, how the muck do you get it in a wee first aid kit in such a way as it would actually be useable when needed?

No,not a good idea fletch.I remember the story when Sherrie(than Mabel) twisted her ankle on a mountain and they had to carry her down. She said the bottle of (port?) was for medicnalalalal purposes.
Would not trust her with anything which got a alcohol content over 0.5
