    Summer Gear

    Hi,
    the sales have hit Paris.
I got a summer jacket and trousers from Hein Gericke for 100 euros a piece. That's 60 quid (pounds) each.

    Well chuffed!

Yes, thanks to everyone who'll write back and tell me how crap HG is, etc. and how every other manufacturer is better but I am buzzing!

Driving to London tomorrow in my new gear (happy as sandboy!).

    GD

Big fan HG stuff and if it's anything like my kit it will serve you well.

Just hope you get warm weather on your trip over to London or you gone be a little chilly.

No way - Niamh's kit is all Hein Geirke - on the Kids Day Out it rained continuously for the 12 hours we were out on the bike and the farm - I was drenched to the skin after 20 mins and stayed that way for the whole day, but it wasnt so bad coz after the point were you cant get any wetter you dont notice any more -

BUT, Niamh stayed warm, dry, and totally comfortable from her feet to her head ! Critical for a 10 year old on the back of a bike. It wasn't cheap, but looking at her at the end of the day made me think it was some of the best money I'd ever spent! I wouldnt have a word said againt HG

I used to have a one piece suit form MQP. That was the best bike gear i have ever owned, when i eventually came off my bike and put a hole in it, i had to find something else.

After going through several SUPPOSEDLY water proof jackets that weren't and quite a few winter jackets that wouldn't keep you warm in a light breeze I eventually went for a Cruise Jacket and troos from HG.

They are the best I've had found in the seperates (jacket and troos) class of clothing. Warm, protective, waterproof, good aftersales (broken zip tag repaired free of charge) and they look quite smart as well.

    Re: Summer Gear

Well, since I'm such a showoff, I got what I deserved.
I was about 80kms from Calais and I saw this black curtain coming towards me and I hit it full on. Strong winds and sheet rain.
I was in what felt like an automatic car wash for 15mins and then boom! It spat me out at the coast into blue skies and fresh breezes.
Despite the fair weather report, it seems the UK sent France a gift of storms in the afternoon.
However, I am very pleased to report that my summer suit repelled it quite well. I closed all the breathable vents and not a drip got through!!!!!!
Well done HG! I tip my hat.
I will probably get another 6 to 8 weeks of this suit usage in France before I get the winter gear back on again.
Maybe more. We only had one day of rain in Paris last December and 2 days of rain in January!
