Swap AT for Aprilia Mille RSVR

I am considering straight swapping my 2002 RDO7 fro a 2002 Aprilia Mille RSVR. Does any one know what I am letting myself in for, both pluses and minuses. Does any one think I am mental as some friends have said?
My AT is only used on sunny weekends so I don't need to look at this from a commuting angle just a fun day out in when the sun shines angle. I will be carrying a pillion.

A few mates have them and rate them highly - good handling-stonkin engine - reliable, and not bad for pillion (for a sports bike).

But take care, they are a favourite track day tool. Get the history ,lots have been crashed and bashed.

If its a straight swap at a dealers its a good deal (I'd be very wary).

Get along test ride though, if you make the wrong choice @s are hard to find but there are loads of millies for sale.

    Whatever floats your boat.....

Test ride the prilla first if you can.... and.... maybe enquire about service costs and spares availability and costs..... and .... also consider mileage/tyre wear compared to the AT......... then of course day to day running costs... mpg's ect.....

    It'll be rubbish off road!

    OK, OK, I'm going....
RD07a, reg in 2001, Black, heated grips, short screen, Scottoiler, Givi top box and panniers, DataTag, full Riky Cross crash bars, Baglux tank cover, Facet pump, mostly 200 miles to reserve and presently a lot happier since being loved up at Chad's hospital for sick ATs!

yes aprilia would not look god in the middle of salisbury plain up to its gearbox in mud and water, all i remember of aprilial is little useless tin snuffbox switches fitted to italian bikes in the sixties and early seventies, they sure have come a long way if it is the same firm

    Simple Answer!!! Be like Me!

    Have Both!

    Hmmm!

I wonder if those Ohlins, Brembos & that nice, compact 60 degree 996 V Twin will fit Honda mounts

    Where`s me Gasaxe??

    Seriously tho...

The only problem I have had with the Mille was a buggered solonoid.
Handling & Brakes are only bettered by my Laverda 750 Formula.
Engine pulls like a train & has never missed a beat. Really does sound fantastic with the Acropovic Exhaust.
OZ wheels make ALL the difference!! Flicks left to right in an instant!

    Go For It!!

    You KNOW You Want to!!!

I was involved with testing one whilst I worked at Millbrook. Fantastic handling, acceleration and realy does need to be used on a track to get the best out of it.

The reason for the testing was that some had reported clutch slipping. Must admit in a few weeks of testing we never could get the thing to slip!!!
