RD07a, reg in 2001, Black, heated grips, short screen, Scottoiler, Givi top box and panniers, DataTag, full Riky Cross crash bars, Baglux tank cover, Facet pump, mostly 200 miles to reserve and presently a lot happier since being loved up at Chad's hospital for sick ATs!

I can, he almost dislocated it doing a rally about 2 weeks ago, was told to rest and given a collar and cuff to do so with no doubt some anti inflamatory pain killers and then whilst "resting " did loads of prep for the cambrian rally.
Mudwiz I would say that it still hurts because you haven't given it time to heal you need to put ice packs on it at least daily if not 2 - 3 times a day, stop taking your bikes into areas without tarmac for a little while take the painkillers and listen to your doctor.
You have probably damaged some of the structures holding the shoulder in place and these can take between 2 - 6 months to stop being painful. (Longer if you dont do the RICE bit in the initial period)
Oh and just in case
RICE (Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation)
All things that you were advised![]()

(sharp intake of breath) Ooooh, that'll probably have to come off!!!!!
3 Africa Twins/280,000 miles. If it's happened to one of mine, it's gonna happen to one of yours.....eventually.
1 Varadero/17,000 miles ridden (of 40,000 miles on the bike), it's all still new to me!
I dislocated my right foot and was off work for five months and twelve years later it still hurts occasionally. The consultant said if I'd broken my leg instead I'd be better in four to six weeks!![]()
So it's normal!
I'd recommend a physio (after the doctor of course), those people can do miracles (sometimes). They're brilliant at explaining how you work and what you can do to manage pain and help the healing. Sugarbunny ruptured two disks earlier this year and the person that was most help was the physio. She now has to do some very odd exercises!
Hopefully you'll feel better soon and that there's not too much damage.![]()
Listen to the nurse! And next time don't compete in a rally two weeks later.
