    Rider Power

Just had a quick glance at the new Ride mag. It would appear that 1200 gs's have done quite well. 4th overall, best big trailies.

Didn't an 1150 that had done the transamerica win coolest bike in last year's roundup?
    AT coming a close second?
RD07a, reg in 2001, Black, heated grips, short screen, Scottoiler, Givi top box and panniers, DataTag, full Riky Cross crash bars, Baglux tank cover, Facet pump, mostly 200 miles to reserve and presently a lot happier since being loved up at Chad's hospital for sick ATs!

That's so true, not a good advert for the shock manufacturers. Before they started they upgraded the suspension with Ohlins shocks and when they collapsed they were replaced with BMW ones.

And replaced again and again. They claim to have been able to change on in ten minutes by the end. They did two in one day, according to the book.
And one thing they constantly moan about is how big and heavy the bikes are. No wonder BMW are bringing out an 800 GS.

In my book thay replaced five 2 on McG's and Claudios, who I don't think gets enough credit, and one on Boorman's.

But that survey isn't really a comparison between bikes, it's a comparison between one owner's opinion of their bike versus other owners' opinions of theirs.

If I rate my bike at 7/10 and someone else rates their at 8/10, theirs wins, but they may just have picked a bigger number because they're easily pleased.

Perhaps they've have only done 200 miles since buying it and it hasn't broke yet, they like the fact that their noddy non-riding coworkers are impressed by the badge on the tank, or maybe just that they have paid way over the odds and won't admit it's cr*p...

In fact all we really know is that bikes will score highly in rider surveys if their owners are insufferable tw*ts who won't stop banging on about how great their bike is...

so how come the 1200GS only came 4th?

flat out on utterly inappropriate tackle

oh how I laughed!! and may I just add something to that........and bikes will score badly in rider surveys if their mates' bikes are owned by insufferable tw*ts who won't stop banging on about how terrible their bike is...
