    Off into the great unknown

Had my last day in work and leaving party last night. I am officially unemployed until Jan 2nd when all things previously thought of as normal get turned on their heads. All a bit scary really, I've no idea what I will be doing in my new job but I do know it will be a world different from the last. No more 6am starts, no more scruffy clothes and no more coming and going as I please. Wife tells me this is my "Grown up job" and at 43 it's probably about time but this is all a bit 'thing'.

Wish me luck chaps, I feel as I'm jumping over a wall, not knowing what's on the other side, but excited all the same.

Good luck with all the changes Squirrel

I generally hold in mind that change is the same thing as stress and, especially for a new job, work on about six months to find your way to the new rhythm, with the first three being the most stressful - new place, new people, new routines, new 'rules', new landscape, new everything. Happy days and good hunting

Some really good advice ther from Steve, it's always hard to start a new job expecially if you have been in your last one for a while.

    ...snip
Yeah - success is almost as stressful as the bad stuff. Seems so unfair.

    And thanks man

Don't worry dude it'll be alright and if it ain't then you can always do summat else

Started a new job meself begining of December, swapped a cushy staff job for the excitement of contracting, lots more money and interesting ways to avoid paying Mr Brown and his Darling, but you have to set up a company and do books and VAT and stuff no just send it all to the accountant I say and get another beer in
