Wish I had the time and ability to turn an old bike into a swan...
Hope you decide to restore it!![]()
I think that may have seen the odd bit of winter salt.![]()
That has got to be a restore job. It looks awful but also looks mainly cosmetic. It looks like a time rather than a money eating job. Always the best ones![]()
There's a guy on another forum restored/rebuilt a bike that looks a bit like that (different model but looks quite similar), then took it on a big tour around europe. His seemed to be in even worse condition to start with, so I think you should have a go at restoring it. It's always good to see a bike saved from the scrap heap or being taken to bits.
You might find this inspiring or helpful: http://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=99871
There was another guy who restored an old cb125 and did an amazing job of it, but his photos seem to be offline now sadly (really did look great compared to what he started with):

If you decide to restore it, you should take lots of pictures of the process and post a commentary as you're going. It might help to keep you motivated and makes a great read for other people, and seems it can be a good source of help as you're going if you run into any problems. I love watching the process unfold and what you end up with in the end. Beats that American Chopper bollocks any day.
when i come out of the shed this evening i will post pics of the rest of the RD stable thats the 4th one i got or 6th if you count log books and frames as owning bikes

They look really nice, particularly the red one and considering what you started with. You probably don't want to hear this, but I liked the painted wheels myself
It'll be cool to see how the blue one comes out (if you decide to do it that is).
Well a local lad came around today, I knew he wanted a 250 so offered him the blue one
but he said he wants something he can ride straightaway, so he is thinking of having the silver one so if i can get the log book for the blue one i may just have a go, been turning out the shed and i have most of the bits to do it i think, just wondering about getting the spoked wheels rebuilt will cost a bit but well lets see
