I am actually speechless...
How, in this day and age can people still believe in this B.S.![]()
more than you'd think and much closer to home!!
a current popular scam is going around where people from a number of african countries are exploiting people and making thousands in frauds by claiming to be spiritualists or witch doctors.
they are sending out flyers and amazingly people are getting caught by this - two cases i know if where people have given thousands of pounds to "witch-doctors" for a cure to love issues/money problems etc and they are being scammed!
the money is put in an envelope and the scammee is asked to leave the room while rituals are performed - then when they return the envelope iis in the same place only it isn't as the real envelope is in the scammer's bag and heading out the door!!
these are in most cases rational normal everyday people in 21st century Uk who believe in witchcraft!!
sometimes i wonder about the future of our species!!
maybe the Hitch Hikers guide is right and the real intelligence is with mice and dolphins!!

I despair that our government will not get involved in this because we don't want to upset the Saudis because we do so much business with them.
I will bet next month's salary that the batons, handcuffs , restraint devices and instruments used to extract this "confession" were bought from UK companies.
May they rot in hell.
2011 Triumph Tiger 800 - "Black Pussy" - MMMM Nice !!!![]()
2000 Suzuki DRZ400S - "Ol' Yella" - very bright
2011 Peugeot V-Clic 50cc - "Scoot" - It's my wife's, an enjoyable ride.
I have a house , but I can't guarantee it's safe !!
I am a bit supriced Kymmy that you are struggling with that.Saudi is not that far from africa and you lived there long enough (aehhh,i think, actually not sure now)to understand that.People here will find it impossible to understand the strong believe African's have regarding Witchcraft and witchdoctors.
I just lived there for 15 years or so buyt the things i've seen or heard are difficult to understand or believe
Wow
Yep and i do believe there is a lot more going on than that.
Just remember the Torso of the little boy which was found in the Thames a few years back. That was a ritual/Witchdoctor killing and i am sure there are a lot more even in this country![]()
Actually you are correct.
Being an english family we had a queue around the block when my parents advertised for a live-in girl to take care of us children (me and two older brothers)...We even had a small chalet at the bottom of the garden for the person to live in.
Remeber this was mid 70's and I was 7 years old
What I do remember though was asking her why the bed was highered using bricks...Her answer was so the evil spirits at night couldn't sneek up the bed and take over her body.
But that was the 20th Century and not the current 21st century

LV I think you missed the point.. the woman was (most likely ) not a witch, by the artical she was not claiming to be.. She was illiterate and was beaten into confessing, she was not even told what the document she was finger printing said.. the evidence was one guy was impotent "cus of her" and the other evidenve was she "bewitched" someone... This case is too close to the "old days" of killing woman under the guise of "she is a witch" as a masoginictic method of taking a woman rights and property... Hey lets drown her.. if she dies then she was a good person.. if she survives lets burn her!!!
Other point is that i have many many friends that ARE witches and are proud of it... they are still missunderstood and are hated for no reason...
rant over...
I used to work with (actually I recruited her) a self-proclaimed witch. There was some banter one evening to which she took offence and revealed this gem of information. While I, as the boss, tried to stem the following abuse - just as you would abuse against any other religion - the comments were very funny and I had to try very hard not smirk.
We had a quiet chat about it the following day and she fully accepted that it would seem funny to other people, so no further action was taken.
This was hardly surprising to me as when she had joined - she was Australian - I made a joke about no longer needing a criminal record to be allowed into Australia and the German woman in the office cheered, on the basis that my stream of Dad's Army and Fawlty Towers comments about Germans would now cease(well they don't like it up 'em).
So there really are otherwise quite sensible people out there who believe they are witches (this woman now works on the Daily Telegraph). Rationally, what is the difference between that and believing in an invisible omnipresent being that is actually three separate entities and watches over us and has the power to do miracles but usually does not bother?
Oh and Saudi Arabia is a loathesome country and regime that the west spends too much time kowtowing to - it is the home of none other than Osama Bin Laden, no less.
