    Consider changing to something Orange??

Not a KTM yet, my numbers haven't come up on the lottery

However I took one of these out on Sunday, a Kawasaki KLV1000 (Suzuki V-Strom) -

What a bike, I was really surprised, OK I would want to take it off road on anything more than a gravel track, and then pretty slowly, but as a road bike. I took it out on to a dual carriageway to open it up a bit, I though it felt a bit slow but then realised I was already doing over 100mph Opening it up in first the front wheel just lifted off the ground, that just doesn't happen on a TA. It took a little bit of mental reprogramming to stick to sensible speeds.

The handling on the road was brilliant, helped no doubt by the road rubber fitted. And with a cracker of an engine

And they have a used one at a local dealers...Hmm

    Hi Russh.

I took the self same model out for a test ride weekend before last when I was down in Perth. They do make you grin a lot when you've just got off an @ after a 120 mile ride .
The difference in power and delivery is amazing, @ versus KLV. The V-Strom (which is what the KLV is, if you check the VIN plate on the rh side of the frame it say's Suzuki) is obviously just as much fun and may be a little cheaper due to larger numbers being available.

Got to say though, the bike didn't make me want to part with any cash in a hurry - I can get the same speed / delivery kick from my Fazer600 (sort of, if you know what I mean!!!).

They don't do the KLV anymore - last ones were registered early 2006.

Still, as a second hand buy, at the right price, it's a belter of a bike - especially in its orange giant KTM lookie-likie paint scheme.

    Just my ramblings.

It's not a case of whether we can fix it or not - it's more a case of how fixed would you like it?

THE VARA IS NOT AS NOT AS QUICK AS THE V/STROM,BUT IT WILL AGE MUCH BETTER

I guess it depends on the deal. It looks like the Kawa comes with engine bars, top box and pannier rails; panniers too? You'll have an enjoyable ride if the price is right. However, I echo sentiments above - a Vara will probably age better.

In the end it has to be your choice.

And if you make the wrong one we'll ostracise you! LOL
