    Yamaha V Max

Anyone got any opinions on a full-power V Max? Just sold my TDM and I'm wondering what to buy next to go along with my AT.

I've always wanted one and if i have the money i would get one. Have heard they don't handle so good but they do go rather fast in a straight line!

Simon said it all really. Very rapid in a straight line really bad at going round corners, not really designed for our roads.

Put four cases of your favourite tipple in the very front of a shopping trolley and push it at running speed around all the aisles of your local supermarket.

If you manage a complete circuit without smacking into anything then you`ll be able to cope with a V Max

just make sure you get a US bike as these are full power 140 + bhp
early uk and european bikes are restricted to 93 bhp
( there's no v-boost fitted to them ) and cost a fortune to convert them to full power
after 24 tears in production they still look and sound the dogs bo***cks
suggest you have a look on the V-Max owners club website for more info

    Re: Yamaha V Max

Well in 1991, Performance Bikes Magazine decided to test the UK model against the Full power US bike.I have the magazine still if you would like to read the test.Timed on the standing 1/4 at 11.4 secs & 139.5mph.Couple of recent pic's here of the actual full power bike from that test .
The only time this bike has ever looked uncool was when 7" 10" of Chad sat on it at Rykas one night, otherwise it has to be the coolest bike in the world.I still have it with just 11,000 miles on the clocks. It's still (almost uniquely) totally original and unmodified. These pics were last summer near Poole. There is a lot of chatter about the handling which is mostly true but that's not the point. When you feel you have mastered the art of riding and begin to feel completely in control of things......Well that's when you get a VMAX ! for much of the time you are just a passenger but that IS the point. Every ride is a rush (Two bikes have to go soon.Definately my XR and either my RWB @ or the Max ) none are advertised yet as I'm just bone idle.I would prefer the @ to go but feel free to enquire about the MAX.
