    BMW 1200GS bike toolbox

BMW have launched a bike toolbox, large enough for 1200GS owners to carry most of the tools required to keep them on the road after the warranty expires. I thought maybe I could get a cheap one off Ebay and modify it to fit my Honda. Well with some top level potching I managed to make it fit.

1 Varadero/17,000 miles ridden (of 40,000 miles on the bike), it's all still new to me!

    Nice work!

BMW really are the masters when it comes to making accessories look as if they were conceived during the bike's development and not just a hastily bunged together afterthought.

Are you going to paint your bike BMW UberRed (TM) to keep up the svelte appearance?

I would, but I understand the current paint spec is only showerproof.

You wouldn't believe the trouble I had getting that toolbox from Halfrauds today. They employ especially dim people in the Mile End branch. The same branch where I was forced to go for a number plate many years ago

"Hello dim and unsightly Halford's person, I would like to purchase a motorcycle number plate."

"Yeah, innit, sorteddddd, ja want a front one or a back one, innit geezer ahhhhhright?"

"Well, my spotty friend, if you can make a front plate that'd be just dandy. Would you mind awfully if I watch you do it?"

Okay I never said the last bit, he was bigger than me.

Which reminds me of this recent bit of "news".
