Fuel is getting beyond a joke !!!!

KINELL !!!!! After work tonight I filled Katee in a BP station in Greenock and regular unleaded was £1.11 a litre !! and diesel was £1.21 for the regular stuff............. thats £5.05 and £5.50 a gallon respectively.

This is just getting beyond a joke. With oilburners having to pay £5.50 a gallon everything else that gets trucked about is going to get a price hike also.

Still there is a positive side - all those people who live in oil producing countries will be getting the benefits ............ EH? NO!! hold on!! .........let me think about that ...........

Well the TA did 51 mpg on the last tank, time to ditch the car. More reason to get on the bike I suppose.

I get exactly the same mpg on my old rusty diesel as I do on the bike (51-53mpg at the moment, best thing I ever did, getting rid of the choke). But my bike fits better between the solid rows of cars I have to go through to get to work.

There's a petrol station just outside Braintree that is showing £1.26 for a litre of diesel. It's also a car/van hire place and they have a policy of supplying their vehicles empty and you're supposed to return them empty. So unless you turn up with a jerry can of fuel you have to put some of their overpriced stuff in before going elsewhere to fill up. Then of course you have to try not to return it with more than a dribble left in.

Just got back from France - paying between £1.14-£1.27 per litre for unleaded

so when's the next fuel protest ?? and will anybody bother to show up ??
so lets import a load french truckers and farmers to show the uk how to do a proper protest

Don't want to sound like the voice of doom or anything BUT enjoy it while you can folk's £1.05/£1.10 will seem cheap in years to come.
Once the world hits peak production (within the next 10 years???), oil production will start to decrease but demand won't.

Fuel price will sky-rocket. Sad but true

All the "End-to-Enders" in June are going to be spending about £200 on fuel !!! Bloody hell if we did not do the end to end bit and just donated our fuel costs to McMillan nurses , that would be £8,600 raised !!!!!

John o' groats to lands end = 875 miles
Everybody does at least twice that distance to get to the start and to get home again = 1750 miles
Average say 45 MPG ?? = 38 gallons each @£5.05 = £196 !!!!

£196 X 44 riders = £8624 !!!

Investment of £8600 to raise £5000 !! mmmmm????? I'm glad this is not a business we are running.

At this rate I might just take my 1964 landrover to scotland next week instead (which runs on vegetable oil collected free from the works kitchens!!!)
