listen mate im a bit worried about your plans for the longest day!! is it true that you are not finishing work till 5pm on the friday and are thinking of riding up to jog through the night and then more or less setting off straight away when we go

mate if you was attempting that on a pan european i would be worried for your safety..the fact that you are going to do it on your XR is frankly insane

please dont think that im having a pop at you mate as i know just how just how hard you can push yourself but i really think you should run up on the thurs with us as i and others think you may be greatly under estimating the task ahead as i remember how shatterd you were when we went to wales


im sure others here will back me up in showing concern for you mate

we all know your as mad as a box of frogs you dont need to prove it to us

I get it Gents, , but the only hassle I have is with time off. There's a whole palaver of request forms to Chair of Governors, gaining the support of the Headteacher on the way, or its a definite "NO", loss of pay, cover lessons for kids etc.
With the high profile of this event I'm pushing at school, there's no way I could pull a sickie either!!

I'm also getting a little nervous of the potential task ahead, I suppose I'll need to bite the bullet and start the leave of absence procedure. It will be Friday only, but you folks are near Hexham on the Thurs pm, I can do Durham, my folks, in 4 1/2 hours, and catch you for the final bit Fri. am.

Then I can get a couple of beers in too!!

i would be a whole lot happier with that chris im sure the school will understand with what the event is about..and your safety is paramount what with the shortage of teachers

Get cover or let the kids bunk off (they wont mind, promise)
if anything was to happen they would be looking at covering for you for more than day

I don't envy you, the longest day is going to be bloody hard mentally and physically, I will with you all in spirit,

Both my kids' schools are closed tomorrow for strikes, so I am sure you having one day off won't totally disrupt the kids' education.

Hey Mudwiz - I resigned a job to do the longest day !!! - seriously.

So if you get boogered about with asking for a day off , tell them to poke it up their "ronson lighters".

No stop !!! easy tiger, before you do anything rash. I resigned a PART TIME JOB !! - Still got my "earner" thanks , but I've arranged holidays off that one .
