    Re: feeling down

Being on your own is nothing short of S''T, was it on the cards or something out of the blue, there is probably no right advise that can be given every one is a special case. Posting here or meeting up with mates can and will help but you will be on your own sometime, its very easy to slip into doing the wrong thing especially with having a drink or two go out and socialise but don't be tempted to have a drink on your own or to have one to help you sleep, it doesn't work it has the opposite affect, try to start something new your free now even if you don't want the freedom, telling your mates can start off the "feel sorry for him syndrome" and you will get pissed off having the same questions put to you "How are coping? you doing all right? my mates' wife.......... get out and find new mates that don't know your history it is easier to hide in their ignorance,

hope this is of some help, no doubt you'll have advise from all over but remember no one is completly on their own.

Maybe we can meet up at the IOM where are you staying,
not sure if I can go yet, but....

D'you fancy a blast (at 40mph and no more, obviously!) around Dartmoor to take your cares away?

I'm in East Devon, you're in the north of the county and there's a bunch of other Devon based riders, let's work summat out!

And I could do with some help planning the XRV National Meet road route!!

Sorry to hear that. I doubt there's any kind of quick fix. A friendly shoulder to cry on will help, but in the end it'll just take time.

Iain that's really horrible news for you and there is nothing that I can say that'll make it any better. I am so sorry

It does get better eventually, it may not feel like it now but take Simon up on his offer to go for a ride, get out of the house, distract yourself.

    Re: feeling down

Hi iain, nothing we say will make you feel much better today but when all the dust settles down and you are back to rational thinking.Bare this in mind,I believe everything happens for a reason, no matter how sh*te it seems at the time. The longer you let it drag at you the less time you are living life.I know exactly how you are feeling as I have had two pull out on me,one after 7yrs and one after 15yrs.I know there also are others here who have had the same happen too.Every now and then I wonder what might have been and you can't help the odd happy memory floating by either, but generally I'm happy as a lark. You could spend years trying to get over it but if you don't......Well, think what else you could do with all those years NOW !!! ( I've been living it up single for the last seven years ) You never know this may have been destiny making way for the real woman in your life to come along ? You just never know ..........Nick.

    Re: feeling down

That's really s**t news. Having been through it I can say I know how you feel.

At the moment nothing I or anybody else says will make you feel much better. However you will feel better, the feeling of being alone will pass and you might even get to enjoy being on your own and pleasing yourself. My ex left after 28 years so as I say I do know how you feel.

When you're ready to talk to somebody you can always give me a call.

It will get better I promise.

I'll Second Simon's suggestion, Theres nothing like a good blast to take your mind to a different place!! I'm also from devon, so if you want to meet up with me and simon, it would be good to go for a beer and a burn!

I know it's a cliche and that there only words, but in time it will get easier!

    Chin up mate.

    Adam.

Sorry to hear your news, like the others say, nothing will make it better instantly, "time heals all wounds", but it'll just take a bit longer. Likewise also, go for a burn or a short trip somewhere, over a long weekend. Go see some mates and quaff a couple of beers together, maybe some company may help. Thoughts are with you mate.
