    Smile Interesting Day

was out for a quick ride with my dad today, just a couple of miles along the coast. we parked up next to a old rugged looking BMW R80. on closer inspection i saw on the ally panniers a time line written in marker pen of countries and dates which listed from the early 90's. It looked pretty cool and was clear that the rider had done a bit of traveling (to say the least). also noticed a sticker with the guys name on 'Sam Manicom' advertising his latest book....hmmm, where do i recognize that from?...

funnily enough, i had actually been checking this guys website out a few weeks ago looking at his travels and books etc. he came over and we chatted to him for a while about travelling and bike stuff, turns out he doesn't live far from me. (his bike has clocked over 250,000 miles )

anyway, seemed like a nice guy with some interesting stories to tell, maybe ill get one of his books.

    what a nice day!

Can you find out who's doing his servicing?
RD07a, reg in 2001, Black, heated grips, short screen, Scottoiler, Givi top box and panniers, DataTag, full Riky Cross crash bars, Baglux tank cover, Facet pump, mostly 200 miles to reserve and presently a lot happier since being loved up at Chad's hospital for sick ATs!

I've just finished reading his books:

Into Africa and Under Asian Skies..........excellent reads.

I bought them after meeting him at the Excel Show earlier on this year - great guy, with a a lot of interesting and amusing tales to tell.

Big respect to him - he made his dream happen
