Had a letter Saturday from my car insurance. It requested that I send proof of no claims bonus. Not unusual but I felt the need to phone them anyway.

Here is how it went:


Sharrie: Hello, I have had a request for no claims bonus proof for my new policy

Insurer: yes that's right Mrs Sharrie, it's standard practice you just need to ask your old insurer to send it to you

Sharrie: Yes I understand that but have a query

Insurer: OK, but without it we will not be able to honor the price that we gave you for the insurance

Sharrie: Of course I understand, my query is could you send the proof on no claims to me and you are my last insurer and then I can send it back to you

Insurer: Uhhhhh hang on a minute

Sharrie: (giggles)

Insurer: Hi there Mrs Sharrie, yes sorry about that, please ignore the letter we can see your a renewal and won't need proof of no claims
