my knickname used to be silverback when i was building commercial vehicles for the same reasons and as the grey hairs now coming through its never more true

It would have helped if she had tried to loosen it instead of tightening it.
But yes I have sheared a few bolts in my time, including wheel studs.

the old Chieftain had an armoured exhaust box on the back,
I had sheared more bolts on the back of that than anywhere else, it got to stage where drilling and re-tapping was too much hassle so bolt heads were fixed with araldite.
