    Shoulder op dates worry!

Todays post brought news of my proposed transfer from the national health to a local private joint, due to the length of wait-time and one of the governments targets.

This may have the worrying effect of bringing the date forwards somewhat - I did have my fingerrs crossed for a late Oct date .

Means minimum 3 months off bike, and probably 6 off "off-road". (And 6-8 weeks in a sling too!)

If I don't take the move, I'm back to the bottom of the list, and I'd really like the pain to go away!!

Chris, do not refuse the date whatever you do, it will put you right back if not take you off the list with a need for a re-referal, it's crap but it is one of the ways that the trusts manage the waiting lists.

You know you need the surgery, you will end up with bigger problems if you don't have it done so just get on with it. It's not worth risking long term complications because you don't want it done.

We really are going to need a old farts and off sick section to this site soon

Do the race forget a bout your shoulder, I have a hacksaw available so after the race WE can amputate the arm and remove the need for you to have the shoulder.

Don't be daft get the thing sorted sooner rather than later, 6 to 8 weeks now is better than 6 to 8 months later.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE

    Re: Shoulder op dates worry!

I had to have a shoulder operation about 10 years ago (cortisone injections didn’t work) due to a training accident. I don’t know the circumstances as to why you need to have this done but I had fractured some bone and it had grown back too much and was trapping a tendon every time I moved my arm. I could not move my arm for weeks afterwards and had to have physiotherapy for a few months until I was getting full movement back so believe me if it is anything like mine then riding a motorcycle is gonna be out of the question I’m afraid.

Saying that, I would have made that statement about doing JOG to LE on a an off-road bike

Quiet right, take the appointment they offer, your health comes first every time Mate, I have been off work for over a year now and had to wait for over six months for one course of treatment to start.

When I worked for BA years ago they used to call it the "SLL CLUB", that stood for sick, lame and lazy.

Chris I would not lie to you its going to hurt like proper pain, you'll get some proper fairy dust ( Tramadol, morphine). but warn your wife when you take them because you go nuts. like Sharrie is.
and let Palmer or BTbloke keep your bike warm for you.
