Even more worrying is that they can track your movements where ever you go.
Big brother is realy here now.
At £300,000 per device, I recon a couple of cops in a car would be far better value.
2006 Silver TA, Hid conversion.
I bet though they'll be aimed at the front of cars![]()
Since when has that ever been a consideration????
So, tackling (taxing) speeders is improving road safety??? And when, exactly, are they going to roll out the cameras that can spot drivers on the phone, reading the newspaper, tailgating, driver a dangerous vehicle etc etc ??????
More visible traffic police presence is what is actually needed, but is what we will never get.

It's not a case of whether we can fix it or not - it's more a case of how fixed would you like it?

I'd rather have coppers on patrol despite been pulled for speeding last year. I'd would prefer see coppers pulling illegal drivers and unroadworthy vehicles than cameras flashing and raising revenues
Going one step further I'd like to see vehicle check points with illegal vehicles been confiscated and sold/scrapped, no second chances. By illegal I mean no MOT, Tax, Insurance and disqualified drivers. Within a few months we'd see an improvement on the roads but then the government would loose revenues in fuel tax
But think of the money they'd rake in with the scrap value of all the crushed cars.
And whilst they're there, they can amputate the hands of anyone caught using a mobile phone at the wheel. An initial drain on the NHS maybe, but how many would it take for drivers to get the message then?????

Just had my VAT form arrive today. For the fist time, the envelope to send it back ios not pre-paid. I have to fix a stamp.
Now, given that I am already collecting something in excess of £10,000 a year of tax for the government in VAT alone, the price of four stamps is nothing. But that is more than £1 saved for every VAT-registered business in the UK, every year. That adds up to a pretty penny.![]()

My lovely neck of the woods is where they have been trying them out for the last few months. On one carriageway they face the front and the other one they face the rear. It really does work in slowing people down. Now EVERYONE keeps to the limit on the road which never happened before. To be honest they are really good cause it is not a safe road to go fast on. The only road death i've ever been to was with a biker on that road before the cameras went in. And that was purely down to speed.
