once a biker always a biker?

just had an old fella come over to look at the Alp.

"nice bike" he says,so i have a quick chat with him and he passed his test in 1936 on a twin cylinder Douglas!

always has a look at bikes and seemed quite interested in the Alp.

biker for life? i think so.

    No doubt

Once you've been used to park always near your destiny, spent a lot less money on petrol and be the only thing that moves in a proper traffic jam it's difficult to forget about bikes.
Not to mention the amusement factor that makes almost every commute something enjoyable.
And then arrives the week-end and you can get lost between the curves of your favorite road.
But don't say it very loud, keep that in secret

S'funny thing you know reading that post, I am not and never have been, a "biker". A motorcyclist, yes. I guess it must be an age/attitude thing?

It still bugs me to get called one and I had a pop at sloppy journos* about this term one day when I was being interviewed about a TRF issue

Same here, I regard the term "Biker" as being a bit derogatory and would much rather be called a motorcyclist ( or grumpy old git) whichever you prefer.

It could be worse, there are of course those two choice numbers from the Seenties, the truly dire David Dundas, "Blue jeans On", and who can forget Chris Speddings, "Motorbikin'"?

I was still amazed at "The Bikers" visiting the Intermot
the classic stereotyped "Biker" with all the colours and badges on grotty vests worn over the jacket.

Sad that they all travelled by car...........
