I know exactly all the sensations you felt.....this time last year I was told that there was a high probability I had bowl cancer, I was suprised how calm I took it and kind of accepted what was comming my way, It wasn't until last January I actually found out it deffinately wasn't cancer (to this day they can't explain why I crapped 6 pints of blood and collapsed but all seems good now anyway)

I have often wondered how I would feel if some doctor turned round and said to me, "There's absolutely no doubt, you have cancer". I thought I would panic etc.
It was actually very strange, the feeling of complete calm that came over me back in March this year. The first words that came into my head at that moment were "Well if it's f*cked, how do we fix it?" Then from that point on, everything seemed to go into slow motion for me at least.
The worst part of the whole episode, was having to tell the wife and kids, that the 'old man' (me!) had a small problem. The look of complete and utter devastation in their faces, still brings a tear to my eye.
Anyway, as I've said in other threads, it really does help to concentrate the mind on enjoying life and remembering to stop, once in a while and smell the roses.....

Jesus christ i feared the worst when i started to read that, glad the ending was a happy one.

A couple of months ago i shat meself when finding a lump in my chest and it turned out it was something to do with my sturnem (spelling?) being inflamed or some rubbish hehe (i'm no doctor as you can see) but the very first time you feel it the horror that fills you as you imagine all kinds of cancers and what not is not an experience i wish to ever repeat.

Turns out all is ok as with you so i'm happy for you fella, take care...

i found a lump in my groin about 3 weeks ago - it was removed last thursday!

apparently it was bigger then they thought but they don't know what it is or what caused the problem - it has been sent for diagnostics!

i joked with them asking if they were in fact BMW motorcycle dealers (after LV's troubles!) they didn't get it - but they were very nice!

anyway after all of that i am waiting for the lab report to tell me what said lump was and in the mean time i have 8 stitches in a place that means every time i brake hard and slide into the tank i take a sharp intake of breath!

oh and on another point from the posts above - are you changing your bike Tarka?

Well...thanks everyone for your kind comments and after reading some folks replies this Thread should serve as a reminder for everyone to look after themselves and maybe think of other peoples` well being.

And for us all to live it while we can....and to enjoy it
