I feel sorry for his family,
If a bird can do that much damage at such a relatively low speed it makes sense that they test aircraft to withstand them.
Is it a one in a million that he got hit by a pheasant or by a bird?
Pigeons are a bigger threat around here.
Extremely sorry for the guy's family, especially the kids. As I get older, I think much more about mine when I'm out riding. Sure the guy was unlucky, but he and every other biker accepts the risks of doing what we do. As someone else said, at least he was doing something he enjoyed up to the last moment.
How many 'U Tube' videos are there, of bike accidents with deer and other flora and fauna posted on the web? It is very sad, but it shouldn't come as a complete shock, I think.
