    biker killed...

Another brother down as Chad would say...

After hitting a bloody pheasant of all things, in a million-to-one freak accident. Tell that to z-weiser on the longest day not long after leaving john`o groats.

For anyone wanting to read the story.

I lost two mates in the same way,It sounds impossible but if you live in the sticks its suprising how much wildlife there is and how ignorent of the highway code they are, and having a five pound missile shooing into your helmet at speed is obviously a serious situation.

I see the bl**dy reporters just couldn't help getting in there that he was allegedly over the speed limit, even if only 7 ish mph & despite the investigators stating thet "speed was not an issue in this accident"

what was the point in that?

Unfortunately not one in a million

happened to a friend of a friend only a couple of months ago only the pheasant hit the pillion the force knocking her head back ruptured the jugular vein.

its now the time when I see lots of deer around the reporters as shown here are like vultures dont give them another story and be on the lookout

    stay safe,

flippin 'eck - i got a crow type thing in the face like WinXP said! - my guardian angel must have been up earlier then me and had a strong cup of coffee on the morning of TLD

luckily i wobbled and bobbled and slid to a halt on the opposite verge!

bloomin' thing hit me square in the visor - lucky that Shark helmets have 3mm visors eh!

funny innit but we spend so much time worrying about the dangers of cagers and thinking how wonderful the nature we ride through is, we forget that it can be as dangerous as the cages!

feel really sorry for this guy and his family!

    makes me feel luckier tho

think i'll give Mrs Z an extra big hug tonight!

My condolences(sp?) to the family. Given a choice, that's not how I'd like to meet my maker, and I cirtainly wouldn't want it reported in a paper that thinks it's readership is so thick that they don't know what a pheasant is or looks like!

Yeah i remember the incident well Z.... how you stayed on the actual road was a miracle and while we were all deliberating about the longest day there was plenty of talk about deers wiping us out but no-one ever thinks about the birds and the fact they are everywhere....
