    feeling rather pleased with myself......

yep, just finished rebuilding the top end of son number 2's Aprilia Rs125. Gave it a minute for the fuel to get in the float bowl, choke on, pressed the button and 3-4 secs later "ring-a-ding-ding it burst into life. Whoohoo Just waiting for him to come home from work so he can try it out properly.

That was a new piston/rings and shoulda been little end too, but they sent the wrong bearing. Decoke the head, and exhaust port, flush the cooling system, clean the carb (again, umpteenth time), check reed valves, clean and decoke silencer, and, well just about anything else at the top end.

In the past 3 weeks its also had a new clutch, and headlight unit, and I have stripped and rebuilt the carb that many times I could do it blindfold.

I tell ya I can strip the fairing of an Aprilia faster than the works factory team now.

Well done mate! Know the feeling with fairings, had to take off the AT's a few times this year, having lost stuff within and trying to rid it of annoying little rattles/replacing the rubbers etc!

    Well done.
I surprised my mate at work with the speed I was able to remove the Fairing tank assembly on my TA, it has been on and off so often it is second nature.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE

Yep the TA fairing comes off in just a few minutes too. Never had any issues with the Vara yet so don't even know how that comes off yet, except I know the first time will take about 1 hour.
