    Triumph Bonneville competition....

I picked up some of the usual guff as I passed through Glasgow Airport the other day and there was an ad for a competion to win a Triumph Bonneville. The entry address is www.baa.com/triumph if anyone is interested in having a free dabble. Best of luck to those who do.

    Regards

    Alec

Why do you need to enter a mobile phone number? What happens if you don't have a mobile phone?

That's besides not being eligible due to not being resident in the UK. But my old Dad is and I'm sure he'd like nothing more than a brand new Triumph for his 80th birthday next year.........

It's not a case of whether we can fix it or not - it's more a case of how fixed would you like it?

There is no such thing as free
a well orchestrated advertisement and customer poll, and two months down the line when your mobile phone is jammed with spam you wonder where it comes from

    Triumph Bonneville competition....

Bit conspiracy there Snaphappy. Every time you use a credit card, log onto the internet, take a book from the library, collect customer loyalty cards (nectar, air miles etc) every time you even pull into a petrol station, in fact just about anytime you interact with the outside world someone is gathering information about you, your habits, interests, your spending ability, what size trousers you wear; in fact just about anything.

The right people can tell you how much you spend on petrol every year, accurately estimate your annual milage based on consumption, they'll even know what coffee you drink and if you can't help going past a buy on get one free advert without dipping your hand in your pocket.

Most of this info is used purely for orchastrating marketing policies, but big brother is watching. Type the wrong words, or even having typed these wrong words years apart will flag you up on someones programmes.

    He's right though.

They didn't decide out of the goodness of their hearts to give some lucky git a free bike. Someone's paying for that bike, and intends to gain something from that. People who enter this competition are the product, not the customer. Follow the money...

    That said, hey, free bike.
