Important food for thought for winter riders!

quote from article in the Mail on Sunday!

Read and inwardly digest!

‘What is going on?’ I asked a doctor one day, during one of my regular visits for treatment.

‘There just aren’t any livers,’ he replied, adding the sardonic afterthought: ‘I’m afraid you need cold weather and black ice on the roads.’

It sounds harsh, but the reality of the transplant business is that the victims of road accidents are the biggest source of organs, and most of them are motorcyclists.

Maybe keep this in mind abit will make us NOT become a donor!

I heard they prefer cyclists because they are in better shape physically.

Yup. If they'd seen the way XRVers knock it back at the National they'd know there's not much point waiting for our livers. Not exactly "low mileage, good condition"!!!

Re: Important food for thought for winter riders!

Years ago i had a couple of op's to try and repair the damage to my left leg (shattered knee etc etc). I was at physio one day chatting to the nurse and she said that they called bikers/motorcyclists whatever Temporary citizens.
Ha! Cheers love for the inspiration

Most A&E Depts refer to motorcyclists as donors

Re: Important food for thought for winter riders!

I have heard that in bad weather the Hospitals prepare for organ transplant as they know some will turn up soon.
