new use for a wing mirror

To tell you how close you are to oncoming traffic.

Yep my right-hand side mirror was hit by the wing mirror of an oncoming Luton Van today.

One of those tossers who not only refuse to pull slightly over when they see a bike filtering but actually move towards the central white line to block your way.

A bit later, at traffic lights, I heard an ambulance so pulled out of the way. Once it had gone round me I made to pull back into the road and a little mini, with blacked out windows, roared past, nearly knocking me off. This time a van driver behind him beeped and chased and gave him a few choice, non Highway Code, hand signals.

This was about 12-12.30 today around the Oval.

Remember Hill Street Blues? Let's be careful out there.

Bit scary when you do that isn't it.

I forget sometimes how much of a blind spot vans have but am always wary of anything bigger than me on the road.

The only real blind spot is the space behind the steering wheel, a lifesaver in a van or bus covers that area just as well as the lifesaver on a bike.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE

No blind spot Sharrie. I was hit by an oncoming van. He saw me alright and pulled over to try to muscle me over the white line, but with a car beside me I had nowhere to go.

Basically he tried to bloody kill you, i know there are some fekkin idiots out there who can't drive but they are tards and can't help it, this was deliberate and an act of evil bastardness rather than stupidity. A rusty corned beef can and the word castrating spring to mind.
