    Loan Tools and Parts

I'm thinking of buying some tools that forum members might need that can be loaned out to subscribed members.

It would need a deposit paying to borrow the tool in case it gets lost or damaged, plus any postage costs.

I'm also thinking of extending this to parts that people might need for a while, e.g. a set of wheels so that they can send theirs off to be rebuilt.

    Is this a good idea?

What tools would you like to be on the scheme?

    What parts should be available?

    Thanks
    Dave

Wheels would be a great item.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE

Great idea...I was thinking the same thing but I just don't have the funds to start off that sort of project! I would like to see brake calipers on the list!

That is one great idea, Dave.

    Also 4x4 with a towbar - and a trailer!

    Ok so far we have:

Wheels (What bikes? Just the AT or others?)
    Calipers (What bikes please?)

    Any tools?

    3 legged pullers?
    Bearing driver?
    Chain splitter / riveter?
    Clutch holder?
MIG/TIG Welder (but decided that this is probably too big to move about)

I don't want to buy stuff that's not going to be used of course though. So there needs to be reasonable interest!

How about a carb balancer? They are not horrendously expensive but tend to be used infrequently.

Oh, and aren't the calipers on the AT and TA interchangeable?

It's not a case of whether we can fix it or not - it's more a case of how fixed would you like it?
