    ebay: Invalid Card

    Hi guys,

We got this from ebay last night on two different accounts whilst trying to bid on a second hand 110v 9" makita grinder with unused diamond blade.

It seems that ebay in thier attempt to stop knife sales has put in operation an endless verification loop to stop bidding on a prohibited item. As the grinder sale had a diamond BLADE with it it tripped this loop half way through bidding so it went for a grand price of £1.25 as no-one else could bid on it..

So well done ebay, you're now scréwing over not only those wanting to bid on an non-prohibited item with the word BLADE in the description (could be a diamond blade for a grinder or perhaps a blade motiff) but also the poor sellers of such items that will have to sell for peanuts or not at all...

Further to this apparently to buy any item that ebay deem to be age sensitive you need to enter a credit card as verification of age (including number, expiry and CVV2) even if you are NOT going to use the card as a payment method... (they don't accept debit cards as under 18's can get them)

So everyone like myself who's never wanted a credit card or anyone who's not in a good enough job situation to get a credit card ebay doesn't want your business..

    Aha
this explains why i could not bid on a diamond cutting disc for my grinder the other day, I actually bought a set of fork seals for 99p from the same seller, and said to the seller that i could not get the bid through and he threw in the 2 115 mm discs for the £2 starting bid , right off too ebay to buy a cheap fireblade now

I have heard the rumour that they have 2, but no one has come forward to substantiate the claim
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE
