There's been chat on this forum (and a few others ) about the sometimes appalling service at some Hein Gericke shops.

Any experience of the one in Edinburgh anybody?? Scottish contingent, of course.

Will be passing through on Thursday and have some time to spare so thought I'd drop in and have a mooch about. Sans bike, unfortunately.

Not been to the Capital's version, but the Glas'ge one is fine - can be a bit pushy, but overall good bunch of lads. They were spot on when my Tour-X needed to go back for repairs to Pheonix which is about as extreme as it gets customer-service-wise........

Thanks for that. I only picked the Edinburgh one as it's less of a walk from the train station than the one in Glasgow........

It's pretty good. No problem exchanging the gloves I bought under warranty when the stitching let go after about 6 months. I've bought a fair bit of stuff over the years and if they don't have it in stock they will get it in a day or so. Its not a big shop however so phone first if you know what you want.

I did have crossed words once when there was a bit of a queue forming and the non serving assistant was spending his time rearranging the stock behind the counter and completely ignoring the customers waiting but that was a one off. He quickly served me when I pointed it out though.

All in all a good shop with frendly staff.
