I wonder if that woman from the DSA has ever even seen a motorbike let alone ridden one?

Amazingly enough, this story has made it onto BBC's Ceefax service as well as News24.

    Whatever next??

It's not a case of whether we can fix it or not - it's more a case of how fixed would you like it?

    Re: Swerve test

It was on the telly when I just looked.

Part of me thinks that riders who can do a little swerve at 50kmph in all weather will be safer on the road than riders who can't.

But the DSA says: "If it saves one injury it will have been worth it", yet it seems to have caused 15 injuries so far.

I think this will boil down to tyres on the learner bikes as well, cos i know there are tyres out there that would not handle that in the wet, did ya watch the boris near miss thing thing at the side that truck driver needs some education wonder if he was polish or summat

    Lorry was at fault twice

1# He shouldn't of tried squeezing through
2# He didn;t secure the rear doors

Does anyone know the dimensions of the swerve?

I am trying to imagine it but I an pretty confident that the @ with TKCs would cope in the wet.

The MCN website seems to be full of people who could not get up to the required speed (32mph) in the distance on their 125s. But most seemed to have failed the previous test too, so are they just not up to standard.

A woman who claims to have been the first woman to pass the new test says the fact they she had to learn to do this and practised before her test means she feels more confident on the road.

    Re: Swerve test

Kymmy beat me with this thread (she's too damm fast that girl!)

I was doing my usual morning peruse of the BBC and saw this story, and personally it got me thinking...

"WHAT'S ALL THE BLOODY FUSS ABOUT?"

And that stupid woman (sorry forum womenfolk) that wants to sue because SHE fell off... well... she's may be a truck driver, but is she really ready for the road on two wheels if she can't dodge through a few cones? And she's gonna sue now! IT REALLY MAKES MY BLOOD BOIL!

Swerve test? It's going through a few cones, or dodging round a can in the road, or a suspicious looking manhole cover! Come on, give me a break!

Here's the layout and the way round the layout and it's part #6 (please note the pictures are mirror images and designed to show left or right hand circuits)
