UK Advrider seems to have been hijacked?

Seems that every thread is now in Russian and contains some, shall we say, unexpected images for a site covering motorcycles and ride reports...

I know nuffin (about anyfin, really), but I'm impressed that they seem to have completely taken over the site. That's some technology.
Sad for the owners though, must be one helluva clean up to do...

It's been like that for a while. A few months ago I started getting rubbish/hijacking responses to threads and I just checked a PM today and, as you said, every single post is rubbish.

Mind you, does anyone use it? I started to when it first began, but after a while got fed up checking in to find there were no new posts at all.

I haven't visited the site for a few months before today.

YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE

It depends on your back-ups, whether you have the forum fully upto date and your server security...

No-one's immune to a determined hacker, but there are things that can minimise the chance of it happening, loss of data and total downtime..

There are so many things that seem able to dilute an apparently strong forum. I saw a good listing style forum shrink to a pale reflection of former glory when a falling out led to some pivotal members posting less.

The pareto principle - so long as there's a sufficiently determined group of influential posters...

    just an opinion, mind...
