I heard of these, they are similar to the wheels used on the moon buggies and mars rovers.

    Re: Spoked Tyres?!

My mate went to live in America and desperate for a job started applying for CAD drafting positions, his only international skill.

He had an interview with a wheel maker and did a short CAD test where he basically drew a lot of circles, a few cross sections and dimensioned them.

He mentioned that he was interested in doing 3D drafting and the company said they would like to buy a 3D CAD drafting programme.

My mate pointed out that they already had one, the one in fact he'd done his test on a few minutes before. He quickly whipped up a 3D wheel and they offered him a job on the spot. He was told later that one of the old blokes interviewing him worked on the Lunar Rover wheels years ago.

He's still there after about four years. Sick to death of wheels though.

I thought your wheels were made from rock.

That does explain a thing or two, I must admit...

    Re: Spoked Tyres?!

I get trade mags with a lot of these ideas featured, there's allways someone trying to re-invent the wheel.

Problem with all these "inventions" is....

    How much?

That's the question i'm asked every day.......

"I want the best tyres for my car, but cheap"

And they look a right bugger to fit

Low profile run-flats on Beamers are bad enough
