    Re: RIP Michael Jackson

Whether it be his innocent period during the Jackson five or the brilliance of his Thriller period nobody can deny the entertainment that the enigmatic Micheal Jackson created.
I'm sure a lot of people will remember him as the sound of the eighties and I'll not take that away from him. What he has created in the last few years has been an epitaph nobody would wish on anyone.
He may not have been found guilty in a court of law on charges of peadophilia but his confession to sleeping with children on tv and also the out of court settlement of $20 million to one 13 yr old speaks volumes to me.
I personally think he was a tortured soul and may he rot in hell for what he has done in his nievety but may he now rest in peace, a star for certain.

Yep ther's no denying the settlement but we'll never truly know if that settlement came about through a stupid mistake, actual abuse or the boys parents simply thinking "Oh we can be rich here"

I don't think we'll ever truly know either way..

But I wouldn't let him near any of my younger relatives but I also wouldn't hesitate in taking them to one of his concerts... Unless he had been convicted then there's little doubt and I doubt if there would have ever been another concert

Michael Jackson was truly a pop legend but personally I will not miss him now.

Perhaps we will find out one day whether he was truly guilty of the crimes he was alleged to have commited, or whether he was in fact a naive and confused person that we could never understand. He was denied a normal childhood and life, and I think this contributed to all of his weird antics.

Jackson will leave behind a legacy of fantastic music and performances forever, that I will not forget.

R.I.P ? I dunno at the moment. If he truly deserves to rest in peace, the great man above will know all, and will guide him to the relevant gates.

Here are some YouTube snippets of Michael Jackson as I would prefer to remember him.

    BRILLIANT!

Anyone seen the South Park treatment of The Jeffersons

He was living proof of what your parents, fame and living in a bubble can due to you. I sincerely hope his children, that he leaves behind, have a better chance that he did.

Guilty, stupid or naieve, only a handful of people will ever know. I sincerely hope he is resting in peace now. As someone who believes in Hell, I wouldn't wish it for anyone. I really hope he made good with his Maker.

But as someone said, it will be interesting to see what comes out in the next 6 months. I give it 4 weeks before we have everything from ''I'm carrying Michaels babies'' to Jacko ate my hampster, to ''Michale visits me everynight in my room''... yuk .... spare us .....

the most notable thing to me throughout all of the michael jackson child abuse allegations was the parents accepting payment to drop the charges as i personally, and i'm sure ANY parent would not have accepted any amount of cash and would have wanted him to stand trial

The last thing you'd want is it dragging on for years as you kid grew older and had the potential to be identified in public.

If you can settle something like that fast and get on with the rest of your life you will, even if it means less money.

That is why the law is an ass (sorry PDSquire)

i take your point chris, but surely this isn't about money! as the parent of the victim, I for one would want to see justice done and not profit from the situation.

accepting a cash settlement makes it look like there was never a crime and it was all a scam from the start....

The worrying thing is that it seems likely that Michaels parents (you know, the ones responsible for his unique upbringing) seem likely to get custody of his kids (according to early reports)
