Maybe, just maybe, Jacko wasn't as whacko as we think!!

His kids were always hidden behind those masks, so perhaps, deep down, he never wanted them to have the upbringing he had.

In the final YouTube clip I posted above, there are snippets of Jackson acting like a kid that never grew up, the bit where he climbs the tree, or the bit where he shrills like a kid when they start hurling custard pies.

Did we get him wrong? Were we (and him) scammed by the press wanting a big story? As a kid that had achieved everything his parents drilled into him at an early age, was he perhaps living a childhood he never had, as a kid, having parties, throwing custard pies, collecting merry-go-rounds, and having (somewhat questionable) sleepover parties?????

I don't know. If I had kids, would I let them stay with Uncle Mike at Neverland? Errrrrrrr NO!

Have to agree with palerider on this... If sopmebody hurt your kids in any way shape or form no ammount of money should compensate and the only way i would accept the cash is to pay for a hitman to cut his balls off, very slowly, with a spoon.

My wife and I were in car crash in Spain. My wife spent four months in hospital, two in a specialist head injury unit. She took two more than two years to be able to go back to work.

We were offered £50,000 after five years. The insurer (of the Spanish driver found guilty of the crash) said we could fight but they'd fight for another five years.

It was either keep the whole thing hanging over us for five more years or accept. I accepted. It was the first day of the rest of our lives. The tiny bit we had left after paying back everybody who helped us paid for a big party with bands and a magician.

    We never look back now.

That is how I feel parents would feel too.

Oh sure, if I ever get a chance to firebomb the offices of Generali you will find me singing "keep the home fires burning (you little Italian ****s)" but it was much better to put it behind us than to keep fighting.

    Re: RIP Michael Jackson

in the situation you just described chris i think you probably handled it in the best way...

but the alleged offence levelled at jackson at the time was entirely different from an injury compensation claim...

the guy was facing one of the the most if not THE most sickening of offences as we all have kids and feel very strongly about things like that which is why it caused so much damage to the mans career even though never proven there will always be a large part of the world who dont think he was innocent.

and if there was even the slightest grain of truth in any of what was alleged then the parents of that boy should have got to the bottom of it and not just stood back and allowed the perpetrator to just walk away and they become fabulously wealthy as well by being paid off..

i,m sorry but that really makes me sickened to my core and makes the parents appear like pimps

unless of course they knew he was innocent and this was really all about blackmail from the start..

I would love for the latter to be the truth as it is by far the lesser of the two...but we'll never know will we?

It does seem strange that if your child is molested you try to get money from the culprit.
I would have thought kicking up a stink and fighting to have the culprit put in prison as the way to go.
I therefore think the incident was staged to extort money.
As for the other charges he was cleared so, He was definitely WEIRD.
But with a stifled childhood he may just have been an over grown child.

for what its worth id say thats my take on the subject. was he inappropriate... probably by normal standards, but i doubt it was for the reasons people label him with. i reckon he just liked to spend time with kids, and in this day and age, if they arent your own, you always run the risks. and in america especially, those risks also include blackmail.... call it a lawsuit if you will, it still amounts to blackmail in a case like this.

if i had kids would i be happy to leave them with him? ... i couldnt honestly say. but i suspect thats more to do with the hype than michael himself.

RIP? - well he didnt live in peace from what we know, so let the poor barsteward have a rest now i say.
    Chris.

    Re: RIP Michael Jackson

Most of these celebs nowadays make the rod for there back and i say fu*k em they knew what they were doing and now cant take the pressure so they can whistle for any sympathy but he didnt he was 11 (ish?) and pushed into it by his parents so didnt have much of a choice. Thats why these shows out today like britains got talent boil my piss by letting kids go on. Society physically protects our children by limiting the age of certain things, smoking, driving, sex etc etc but hey if you want to be emotinally scarred then go ahead, get yerself on BGT, fail misserably in the final and have a breakdown and we'll call it entertainment!
